Kids, Videos Games And Computers

Many kids today need a little extra push to get outside and play. With so many video games and computers, more kids are becoming couch potatoes. Today, school does not provide enough exercise and some kids do lack the need amount of exercise to stay healthy. This can be a challenge if the kids have their attention centered towards video games.

One thing a parent can do if the child insists on playing video games and not having any exercise is make them do a chore that will take at least a half hour. At least this way they will get some form of exercise. It made be sweeping, vacuuming or even cleaning up the yard after a pet. No matter what you have them do, it should take at least a half hour to do so they do get some form of exercise before turning on the video game or the computer.

Not only will this provide exercise, but also it will teach responsibility.

It Is Almost Time For School To Start

Yes, parents everywhere are anxiously awaiting the start of school. The summer, if we are to call it that has been slightly different from what we are used to. It has been a rainy season that has proven that Mother Nature can have devastating affects on lives. Although today is partly sunny, it has not been the best summer for kids. They have been cooped up in the house quite a bit.

Time for school to start. Parents are visiting stores and buying school supplies and that all favorite, school clothes. Shopping with kids for clothes is never as fun as it seems. This is especially true for little ones. They seem to hate trying on clothes and they really hate new clothes. They have their favorites and that is what they want to wear.

Teens are a different story. Mom and dad never know what the fashions are it seems. There are always conflicts and sometimes that conflict lasts until school starts. Mom and dad, you have to get with the style. Many of the styles out there for kids are the ones we were in the eighties. It would have been nice if we could have kept all our clothes for such occasions. It sure would save money.

Now that school is nearing, what are you going to do with some spare time? Are you going to take a few days off of work and just pamper yourself and breathe normally for the first time in months?

Kids are great, but sometimes you just can't wait for them to go back to school.

Kids And Water Be Careful

Unfortunately, summer is here and accidents with kids are already hitting records. The most recent was a near drowning that has left a six-year-old girl in critical condition after three weeks. The six year old was in the lake with her seven-year-old brother while their father was on the beach. Where, I have no idea because they have not officially released the official report.

The two kids walked out the second sand bar, which in all reality was very deep except for the sand bar. Both kids fell off the sand bar into deep waters. A woman walking on the beach rescued the boy and the girl was rescued by three teens on Jet Skis. The six year old was unconscious and received CPR from worker at the Power Plant where the kids where in the water.

Today, she is still in critical condition and no report on how severe her condition is was reported. What is it we say during the summer? Kids need to be watched and taught. Kids And Dogs Together Alone

Should you allow young children to be in a room or outside alone with a dog? The answer may surprise you, but the answer is no, even if it is a family pet. Children think differently than we do. They may inadvertently do something that could be harmless, but the dog might not thing so.

One example is a child who is eating chips and offers the dog a mere crumb. The dog, no matter how gentle may want more than a crumb and decide to take what they want. The gentlest dog could become upset and believe they are being teased.

So many kids are bitten by dogs that they know because parents think the dog will not hurt the child because they know each other well. The simple fact is that dogs are domesticated, but they still have instincts. The first instinct is to protect themselves and the second is to eliminate competition.

Should you leave you child alone with a family dog or a friend's family dog? The answer is simply, no you should not trust either one to be left with the other.
